This project was based in (Umeda) located in Umekita, Osaka, Japan. As the site has proposals that suggests having high rise and a central green space, we challenged the potentials of the site and how it could connect better with Umekita. While working with students from Kobe University, we proposed an ‘Oasis’ that would allow the population to relax and restore themselves from their hectic schedule. Umeda Infiltration focuses on extending the Oasis into the crevices among the city. As I am fascinated with the interstitial spaces between buildings that would later turn into rubbish dumps otherwise stackable car parks - I wanted to change those spaces. This is achieved through several surface explorations - stretch, roll and wrap.
The following is the individual extension project after collaborating with students from Kobe University.
