BYOBB is a project that is a response to providing a radical solution to Batemans Bay, a town located in New South Wales that is predicted to be the first flooded by rising sea levels. My partner, Pearl Dempsey and I, inspired by the beginnings of Venice proposed that the future population of Batemans Bay to live in scaffolding that would provoke others to build a self-sustaining community, As we speculate that some time in the future housing prices will become increasingly unaffordable and a rise in trend of people working from home, we suggest that these pods are modular yet flexible when customised, Despite it being a bleak outlook for the town, we hope that this proposal would be optimistic and provide some possible insights for the community.
